Database performance issue causing outage of app

At approximately 11:00 ET, a database table relating to system alerts and announcements starting exhibiting long wait times in returning records. This resulted in an outage of the main OwnerRez application. The sysops team add a new database index to the table, and the system started stabilizing at that point. An additional hotfix was deployed to the application code to better cache the queries to this dataset to further mitigate any future impact. We've now resolved the incident.
